On May 21–22, 2025, CDO participated in a six-month implementation review of the NM-ECDP through the Mtoto Kwanza project.


The evaluation was organized by the Tanzania Early Childhood Development Network (TECDEN) in collaboration with @ortamisemi, @maendeleoyajamii, and various development stakeholders from all 26 mainland regions of Tanzania, along with representatives from the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar.

The meeting brought together Social Welfare Officers, Nutrition Officers, and experts from ministries focusing on children, with the aim of assessing achievements, identifying challenges, and developing effective strategies to improve integrated services for early childhood development in Tanzania.

During the meeting, it was shared that since 2021, the government has established 206 public community daycare centers and registered 4,178 private centers across the country, serving over 17,800 children. A total of 445 caregivers have been trained to enhance the quality of care. Representing the Minister of State – TAMISEMI, Hon. Mohamed Mchengerwa, the Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Hon. Said Mtanda, emphasized that investing in early childhood development is key to building a productive workforce for National Development.
Mr. Sebastian Kitiku from the Ministry of Community Development and Ms. Subisya Kabuje, Assistant Director of Social Welfare Services, also highlighted the importance of collaboration in improving the implementation of the NM-ECDP.
