On May 21 – 22, 2025, Childhood Development Organization (CDO) proudly participated in the Tanzania Malezi Summit (TMS) a national platform uniting government leaders, civil society organizations (CSOs), development partners, media, academia, and communities to elevate the importance of parenting and Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Tanzania.
Representing through the Mtoto Kwanza project, CDO joined the six-month implementation review of the Integrated MMMAM Program. The summit, led by TECDEN in collaboration with @ortamisemi, @maendeleoyajamii, and development stakeholders from all 26 mainland regions and Zanzibar, served as a critical forum to reflect on national ECD progress, share best practices, and shape strong policy and financial commitments.
We were inspired by the presence of national leaders, including:
🔹 Hon. Dotto Biteko, Deputy Prime Minister
🔹 Hon. Said Mtanda (RC Mwanza), on behalf of Hon. Mohamed Mchengerwa
🔹 Sebastian Kitiku, Ministry of Community Development
🔹 Subisya Kabuje, Assistant Director of Social Welfare
Their messages reinforced a unified belief: investing in ECD is foundational to national development.
CDO is honored and excited to contribute to this movement that places nurturing care at the core of Tanzania’s future. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive nation for every child.
