The Morogoro Regional Secretariat, in collaboration with Childhood Development Organization (CDO), the Mtoto Kwanza Programme Coordinators in Morogoro Region, and stakeholders working in Early Childhood Care, Development and Learning, conducted a Review Meeting on the implementation of the National Multisectoral Early Childhood Development Programme (PJT-MMMAM) for the period January–June 2026.
The meeting was officially opened by Dr. Best Magoma, Assistant Regional Administrative Secretary – Health, Nutrition and Social Welfare, on behalf of the Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS).
The meeting brought together Regional and Local Government leaders, PJT-MMMAM Coordinators from the Councils, Social Welfare Officers, professionals from the health, education, nutrition and community development sectors, as well as stakeholders and members of the Tanzania Early Childhood Development Network (TECDEN) from Morogoro Region, including Kids Safe Foundation, UWADAMO, UWAMATA, LeMachu, WICOF, Zuia Trafficking, C-DEF and LUO.
The main objective of the meeting was to review the implementation of PJT-MMMAM during the reporting period by assessing achievements, identifying emerging challenges, sharing experiences and best practices, and developing effective strategies to strengthen coordination and the delivery of integrated Early Childhood Care, Development and Learning services.
During the discussions, participants conducted an in-depth assessment of the achievements, challenges and opportunities in the implementation of the programme. They collectively agreed on strategies to sustain and strengthen the implementation of PJT-MMMAM, ensuring that every child receives quality, integrated services that support their growth, development and well-being from the earliest stages of life.
Through this collaboration, Childhood Development Organization (CDO) will continue working closely with the Government and other development partners to strengthen the implementation of PJT-MMMAM, to ensure that every child grows up in a safe and nurturing environment, has access to appropriate services, and receives opportunities to reach their full potential.
