The meeting provided an important platform to review progress in the implementation of the programme, share experiences, and discuss key actions to strengthen interventions aimed at improving children’s well-being and development across the country.
During the meeting, the Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Hon. Dr. Dorothy Gwajima, highlighted nine key priorities aimed at strengthening programme implementation and ensuring that children’s well-being remains a national priority.
Among the key priorities was the call to ensure that “priorities and budgets are aligned with the real needs of our children.” This emphasises the importance of ensuring that plans and resources reflect the actual needs of children and support continued investment in nurturing care, growth, and early childhood development.
CDO continues to work closely with the Government and other stakeholders in supporting national efforts to ensure that every child has access to a safe and supportive environment for nurturing care, growth, protection, and development from the earliest stages of life.
