On 6 February 2026, Childhood Development Organization (CDO participated in a stakeholder meeting convened by TECDEN at BRAC Maendeleo Hall in Dar es Salaam.
The meeting focused on developing the Terms of Reference for a national childcare coalition platform under the CARE Initiative, a two-year programme implemented in Tanzania, South Africa, and Bangladesh.
Through stakeholder discussions, it was agreed that the platform should go beyond home-based childcare and include all childcare service delivery models, including home-based, community-based, centre-based, and institutional childcare. This approach aims to ensure a strong and unified national voice for childcare in Tanzania.
As a result of this consensus, the coalition was renamed the National Childcare Community of Practice (NCCoP).
