Childhood Development Organization (CDO), in collaboration with Mvomero District Council, conducted training for Peer Educators from 7 wards in Turiani Division and 8 wards in Mlali Division, focusing on HIV/AIDS, Protection, and Safety.
The main objective of the training was to equip Peer Educators with the knowledge and skills they need to reach and educate adolescent and young people within their communities.
Through the peer-to-peer education approach, Peer Educators will play an important role in ensuring that young people have access to accurate information, develop a better understanding of HIV/AIDS prevention, recognise protection and safety issues, and contribute to creating safer environments for themselves and their peers.
The training will continue in Mlali Division, where Peer Educators from eight wards will also receive training and preparation to reach and engage adolescent and young people in their respective communities.
Knowledgeable young people are empowered young people better equipped to make informed decisions, protect themselves, and contribute to building safer and healthier communities.
