On 10–14 August 2026, CDO, in collaboration with Mvomero District Council, conducted an initiative to establish, strengthen, and build the capacity of youth clubs through the TUNAWEZA Project.
Through this initiative, we reached more than 350 young people across 14 wards: Dakawa, Mhonda, Hembeti, Mvomero, Mtibwa, Kinda, Mziha, Sungaji, Mgeta, Langali, Mzumbe, Doma, Melela and Homboza. In each ward, youth groups were established and/or strengthened, while Peer Educators were selected to continue providing awareness and linking young people to essential health information and services.
The young people received education on HIV/AIDS, HIV prevention and testing, leadership, and the importance of youth participation in promoting their own health and well-being.
The activity was successfully implemented in collaboration with the District Youth Development Officer and the Mvomero District Council HIV/AIDS Coordinator. At ward level, CDO worked closely with Community Development Officers, Ward Executive Officers and Village Executive Officers.
