WE HAVE REACHED OVER 2,000 PEOPLE THROUGH A COMMUNITY SPORTS BONANZA, HIV AWARENESS, AND TESTING CAMPAIGN IN MZUMBE WARD

In collaboration with the Mzumbe Ward Community Policing Unit and YAS, we successfully organized a community sports bonanza in Mzumbe Ward, bringing together more than 2,000 young people and community members from different age groups.

The event served as a platform to promote sports, community engagement, and awareness on important social issues. Participants received education on sexual and reproductive health, HIV/AIDS prevention, leadership, safety and security, as well as positive parenting and child development.

Working closely with the Health Department of Mvomero District Council, Mzumbe Health Centre, and Mlali Health Facility, we also facilitated free voluntary HIV testing and counseling services for young people and adults. More than 1,500 individuals were tested, learned their HIV status, and received counseling and support to help them make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Through this initiative, we demonstrated the power of sports as a platform for health promotion, education, and community development while empowering individuals with the knowledge and services needed to build healthier and safer communities.
